Caerula Mar Club: Intentional Design

From the moment you set foot in the sand, the Caerula Mar Club South Andros feels like a beautiful discovery. The origin of Caerula Mar is everyone’s fantasy: stumble on a virtually untouched island in the Bahamas with a rundown, abandoned resort and bring it back to glorious life.

That’s exactly what developers Sarah and Bryan Baeumler did while island hopping on their own family holiday. They fell in love with the largest — yet least developed — island in the Bahamian constellation and dreamed of what could be. What it became was a collection of Private Villas and Clubhouse Suites on ten secluded acres of oceanfront property, made with sustainable, natural materials designed to be in perfect harmony with the natural world all around. And with a total population of only 2,000, the natural world far outnumbers the islanders here — making it a one-of-a-kind place to fully immerse yourself in nature.

Essentially, Sarah and Bryan created what they loved: “When we travel, we look for places off the beaten path. We like properties that are part of the community, part of nature and just fit with the landscape.” Caerula Mar does just that, blending exterior and interior aesthetics to create a world-class boutique resort.

Throughout the property, curated Harbour collections featuring natural materials, timeless neutrals and sustainable craftsmanship tell a story inspired by human connection. With an interior design background, Sarah envisioned a flow from areas for quiet enjoyment and romantic moments to more generous spaces for group gatherings and celebrations.

Harbour helped execute this vision with a range of handcrafted pieces that were organic in both shape and feel and also ultra-comfortable: Pacific Teak Sun Lounges and Lounge Chairs, Pier Teak Coffee Tables, Avalon Dining Chairs, Byron Lounge Chairs and Breeze XL Lounge Chairs. Utilizing natural Indonesian teak for many of the collections created an organic look and feel that would age gracefully over time.

Beyond the property, secluded South Andros (along with the third-largest barrier reef in the world) offers an idyllic backdrop for couples, friends and family to reconnect and relax — with adventures that range from sailing and snorkeling to diving and fishing. And when guests return from a day at sea, they’re invited to recharge on Harbour’s lounges at Driffs Beachbar or rest beneath the shade of lush palm trees.

By the way, if Bryan and Sarah seem familiar it’s because they star in HGTV’s Renovation, Inc and their own series Renovation Island — based on their experience of packing up their family to move to an island in the Bahamas to fully restore and renovate this very resort. Sarah also founded her namesake lifestyle brand, inspiring women with elevated design and intentional living.

Come experience a resort that truly evokes a sense of barefoot luxury — and then bring that ethos into your everyday world with hand-selected pieces from our outdoor collections.
