Finish Details
This finish utilizes an 8-step process combining polyurethane and polyester coatings to achieve a durable, high-gloss appearance while allowing the natural wood grain to show through.
This finish is suitable for outdoor use; however, we recommend placing pieces under cover or in partial sunlight to preserve the finish in optimal condition for as long as possible.
Exposure to direct sunlight and rain may accelerate the need for maintenance and can contribute to natural wood movement over time. Despite this, the material remains appropriate for all outdoor environments.
As this is a luxury finish, expect additional long-term maintenance—ideally performed by a professional teak care service.
ROUTINE CLEANING
- Each teak piece is unique, with one of the highlights of natural teak being its Remove dust regularly using a soft cloth
- Clean surfaces with a non-abrasive cleaner (e.g., Simple Green)
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that may damage the finish
LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE
- Conduct an annual inspection of the finish
- Refinishing is typically not required more frequently than every 2+ years
Professional servicing is recommended, as the process involves:
- Sanding the surface
- Applying multiple layers of clear coating
- Sanding between each layer for optimal adhesion and finish quality
USAGE PRECAUTIONS
- Avoid dragging or placing sharp/heavy objects across the surface
- The clear coat can scratch, and imperfections may become more visible in direct sunlight
